LaserLinc Total VU Software
What is LaserLinc Total View Software? LaserLinc's Total Vu™ HMI software is a comprehensive process visualization tool designed to enhance product quality and process trends assessment. The software provides statistical display and reporting to summarize product quality and process capability. It also features a unique built-in filtering system to detect and report dimensional flaws, enabling the elimination of defects before they reach customers or downstream processes. The Total Vu HMI software supports independent and simultaneous processing of measurements for SPC (Statistical Process Control), flaw detection, measurement, and trending, ensuring each function works optimally for the operation. Additionally, it captures measurement data to disk or network storage devices for post-processing and record-keeping. The software is Windows-compatible, allowing users to choose their computing platform, whether industrial or desktop, laptop, mini-PC, or an all-in-one product. If you need more detailed information or have specific questions about the software: [1]: LaserLinc Total Vu HMI References [1] Process Visualization - LaserLinc Here are the steps for the known configuration the Laserlinc Total VU system: Initial Setup: Ensure that the program has access to TCP port 443 on your company's firewall to communicate properly. This is crucial for the connection to be completed. Make sure the computer is logged into an administrator account to allow necessary adjustments. Installation: Download and install the Total VU software. If you encounter an error message like "Error 1706: No Valid source could be found for product Total VU Process Improvement Software," ensure that you have access to the installation package and try again. Backup Configuration Files, Database Files (if applicable), and any other important Total VU files before uninstalling and reinstalling the software. Network Configuration: * Please note the below instructions are only for initial setup and testing purposes only. You will need to ensure that the IP Addresses assigned to the Host, Scanners, and other devices are within the Process Network Subnet and IP Range for the Mills Process Network. Please reach out to NBT Network Team to ensure your IP's will not conflict with larger architecture. Set the Ethernet port to a static IP (e.g., 10.10.10.1) with a subnet of 255.255.255.0 In Total VU, assign the scanner an IP address (e.g., 10.10.10.2). Input the serial number and IP address in Total VU, restart the software, and press CTRL U on the keyboard. The green window that pops up should show "Active" for the Netlinc Status. In the approach above it is a best practice to assign sequential IPs for the Hosts, HMIs, PLCs, Micrometers, and other hardware associated with the installation. Firewall and Security: It is LaserLinc's preference that computer is kept off the network and local only to install the Total Vu software, it is important to stress the PC should not have any 3rd party virus protection or other programs, settings, domains, etc.. Please keep in mind that due to Nucor Security considerations you will need to work with the NBT Security Team to ensure any approach considered is compliant and best protects the Nucor Network at all times. No Protection is not an option for any reason as we have solutions and approaches as a result of best practices at other Mills. Make an exception in the Windows Firewall for TotalVu.exe. The program needs access to TCP port 443 on the production firewall to communicate properly. Please ensure Domain rules for control of communications that may need to be setup if applicable. Most domain Network setups require any network communications to be individually setup in the settings. Ensure that the PC does not have any third-party virus protection or other programs, settings, domains, etc., that may limit communication. 1. Ensuring Netlinc Status The green window that pops up should show Active for the Netlinc Status. If no window displays press CTRL U on the keyboard Troubleshooting: For any changes made with the settings of Total Vu Software please make sure to restart the software after changes and press CTRL U on the keyboard to update the configuration. If the connection is still not established, consider using a freshly wiped PC or a new one out of the box for the installation. If issues persist, perform a remote session on the PC to verify the settings. If there is still no progress, discuss returning the equipment for testing.
